What's involved in a diagnosis?

Initial Consultation – The first thing we do is talk to you to gather first point information which helps our technicians understand your vehicle’s symptoms.

Inspection – We’ll then inspect your car with you, so we’re all on the same page.

Interrogation – Your vehicle’s computer systems are interrogated for current and historic faults.

Technical Product Bulletins – Based on the interrogation results, we use technical product bulletins to help reveal any known problems, such as software bugs.

System Data Evaluation – Our technicians then pinpoint any aberration, so we know which tests to put your vehicle through.

Reference – We’ll refer to our technical information systems to identify test specifications.

Testing – By far the most intensive part of the process, we use all the information we’ve gathered to perform tests using serial data tools, oscilloscopes, and pressure and flow gauges to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

Assessment – The test results let us make an extremely accurate assessment of your problem. We’ll then call you to discuss the next steps.
I know my fault codes - do I still need a diagnostic evaluation?
Yes, because finding the fault code doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve found the cause of the problem.
If a code reports a sensor fault, it’ll normally come from the system being monitored by the sensor, or the wiring to the sensor. So replacing the sensor won’t solve anything if it’s a problem with the wiring. Fault codes can also be triggered by faults that occurred a long time ago.
